Out and About in Shinjuku in the Fall!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (left) and the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building (right). Photo by Brett Homenick.

While in Shinjuku earlier tonight, I snapped some photos of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Both buildings feature prominently in the Godzilla series, namely Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) and Godzilla 1985 (1984), respectively. The photos came out quite nicely. Also included are a few other random spots in the area, including the Shinjuku Eye. Enjoy!

The Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, well-known in Godzilla fandom as the building Godzilla crashes into after losing his first battle with the Super X in Godzilla 1985 (1984), recently completed work on its new atrium. Here are a few recent photos of it taken on November 6. Enjoy!

In Godzilla 1985 (1984), Godzilla collapses into the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building after losing his initial battle with the Super X. Now, Godzilla has returned to the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, but this time in chibi form. Take a look!

SHINJUKU AT NIGHT! Revisiting Godzilla Locations!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (left) next to the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building. Photo by Brett Homenick.

While in Shinjuku, I photographed two notable buildings associated with the Godzilla series. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (a.k.a. Tax Towers) is featured in the climactic battle of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), and the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building is the structure collapses onto in Godzilla 1985 (1984). Both buildings look quite nice at night. Enjoy!

THE TOKYO METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT BUILDING! A Nighttime View of This Familiar Godzilla Location!

While in the area, I decided to snap a few photos of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, as seen during the climactic battle in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991). I threw in a couple of extra shots of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building for the heck of it. Take a look!

FALL FOLIAGE MEETS GODZILLA! A New Look at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building!

Fall is in the air, and so is Godzilla's atomic ray! Godzilla is still on display on the side of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, but as summer gives way to autumn, it's starting to look a whole lot prettier. Take a gander yourself.
