Out and About in Shinjuku in the Fall!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (left) and the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building (right). Photo by Brett Homenick.

While in Shinjuku earlier tonight, I snapped some photos of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Both buildings feature prominently in the Godzilla series, namely Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) and Godzilla 1985 (1984), respectively. The photos came out quite nicely. Also included are a few other random spots in the area, including the Shinjuku Eye. Enjoy!

The Shinjuku Eye Sheds a Tear

The damaged Shinjuku Eye. Photo by Brett Homenick.

While in Shinjuku on Wednesday, I passed the Shinjuku Eye, which had recently been damaged. The fame sculpture is having a pretty lousy 50th anniversary so far. (It was created in 1969.) I certainly hope they catch the vandals responsible.

THE SHINJUKU EYE! It Keeps an Eye on Commuters!

In Shinjuku Station, the eyes have it! Photo by Brett Homenick.

When roaming around Shinjuku Station West Exit Underground, beware the eye that hypnotizes! The Shinjuku Eye has been a fixture of Shinjuku Station for many years and gives the area a real science fiction feel. It's worth checking out if you have the opportunity.
