ULTRAMAN FESTIVAL 2017! Celebrating 50 Years of Ultra Seven!
If it's July, and if it's Tokyo, that means it's time for the annual Ultraman Festival held in Ikebukuro's Sunshine City. This year's Ultraman Festival just opened, and today I made my way over to Ikebukuro to give it a look-see. As far as I'm concerned, Gomes stole the show. Have a look for yourself. Enjoy!

ULTRAMAN IN IKEBUKURO! The Hero from M78 Celebrates his 50th Anniversary!

It's 2016, and Ultraman is currently enjoying his 50th anniversary. This is especially true in Ikebukuro where not only will the annual Ultraman Festival be held in July, but the Ultra Goods Fair is running between June 20 and July 15 on the first floor of the Tokyu Hands right outside of Sunshine City.
The Ultra Goods Fair overall takes up a rather small section of Tokyu Hands, but if you're a collector who can't spend your own money fast enough, there are a lot of tempting treats.
I had no idea the Ultra Goods Fair was happening, but I'm glad I caught it in time. I didn't buy anything, but I usually go out of my way not to spend money.
As you can see, the goodies were quite good. After leaving the Ultra Goods Festival, I made my way over to the giant Ultraman statue and snapped some photos.
This year, Ultraman Festival runs from July 22 until August 28. I may attend this year, and if I do, you know where to find photos of the event.
And there you have it.

WHEN IN IKEBUKURO... Ultraman Cosmos Looms Large!

Unfortunately, however, by the time I arrived, Ultraman Festival was closing. Maybe some other time. The exhibits are fun to see, but if I have to wait till next year, that's cool. In fact, I don't think I've actually been to Ultraman Festival since 2012!
That said, Ultraman Cosmos can take care of things in my absence. Till we meet again!

ULTRAMAN FESTIVAL 2012: 45 Years of Ultra Seven!
This year's Ultraman Festival in Ikebukuro focused on the 45th anniversary of Ultra Seven (1967-68). In attendance on August 10 was Koji Moritsugu, who starred as Dan Moroboshi (Ultra Seven's alter ego) in the series. Not only did I meet Mr. Moritsugu, but I also met his daughter, Aya, who was there to assist him. Aya was very friendly and spoke very good English, having lived in the U.S. for some time. It was a fun event, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves!
