Godzilla vs. 'Ghost Book' in Hibiya?!

While in Hibiya today, I spotted this ad for director Takashi Yamazaki's latest movie Ghost Book, which opened in Japan last month.  

It caught my attention for fairly obvious reasons, and, considering that Yamazaki is in the process of making the next Godzilla movie, perhaps it's a bit of foreshadowing. In any case, they can use Godzilla's name all they want; I'm still not seeing this flick!

GODZILLA FEST 2018! The Big G Stomps into Hibiya!

Hibiya celebrated Godzilla's birthday (November 3) in a big way. Godzilla Fest 2018, naturally, is the only event in the world authorized to use that name (or any variation thereof), and I was more than happy to support the real deal.

The event was geared mostly for kids, but it was still fun to see. The highlight was the man in the replica Godzilla '54 suit, who shook hands with attendees. (Sure beats the Godzilla suits I've seen elsewhere.) Anyway, check out the photos below. When it comes to Godzilla Fest, I know I won't be accepting any poor imitations.

The Heisei-Era Godzilla Statue Stomps into Toho Cinemas!

The Heisei-era Godzilla statue that used to adorn Hibiya Chanter Square has been relocated to the Toho Cinemas on the fourth floor of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, and in case you were wondering how it looks in its new home, wonder no more!

HIBIYA GODZILLA SQUARE! The New Shin Godzilla Statue Is Finally Unveiled!

I stopped by the newly renovated (and renamed) Hibiya Godzilla Square today to take a look at the brand-new Shin Godzilla statue. All I can say is, I miss the old one (even if it's simply being relocated a short distance away). Also missing was the Walk of Fame-style area with the names (and hand casts) of various Toho stars. That's progress for you. Anyway, here are the pics.
