Out and About in Ginza!

I spent the evening in Ginza tonight, so I had the opportunity to check out a few sights. Here's what I saw. Enjoy!

Out and About in Ginza

The Yurkakucho Mullion Building. Photo by Brett Homenick.

While walking around Ginza today, I took some photos of a couple of familiar locations. One was the Yurakucho Mullion Building (as seen in Godzilla 1985), and the other was the Hattori Clock Tower atop the Wako department store (as seen in Godzilla '54). Enjoy!

HATTORI CLOCK TOWER AND YURAKUCHO MULLION! Two Iconic Kaiju Locations!

The Hattori Clock Tower (atop the Wako department store) was featured prominently in Godzilla (1954). Photo by Brett Homenick.

While walking around Ginza, I couldn't resist the urge to photograph some familiar locations. It was a beautiful day, which made any resistance nearly impossible. It truly was perfect weather for photography. Anyhow, here are some shots of the Hattori Clock Tower (as seen in the original Godzilla) and the Yurakucho Mullion Building (as seen in Godzilla 1985). Enjoy!

On Friday night, I made a return trip to Ginza and took some photos of the Hattori Clock Tower, a notable location in Godzilla (1954). Here they are!

GINZA'S WAKO DEPARTMENT STORE! An Overcast Sky Hangs in the Background!

A typhoon blew through Japan yesterday, but thankfully the storm largely missed Tokyo. Still, we got our share of wind and rain. While in Ginza, I photographed some of the usual locations, including the Hattori Clock Tower atop the Wako department store.

The overcast sky certainly adds a bit of character to the photos. During this time, it was raining off and on, and the storm was completely over by the evening.

Today the weather was back to normal, but given that it's August, perhaps that's not such a good thing!

OUT AND ABOUT IN GINZA! Familiar Locations in Tokyo!

Today I had some time to walk around Ginza. Since I had my trusty camera on hand, I took some photos.

It's been photographed countless times (even on this blog!), but I snapped some new photos of the Hattori Clock Tower, which Godzilla destroyed in 1954.

Nearby stands the Yurakucho Mullion Building, which Godzilla destroyed 30 years later in 1984. It also bears a famous logo.

More photos to come!

GINZA GODZILLA LOCATIONS! New Photos of Two Locations Demolished by The Big G!

The Hattori Clock Tower stands atop the Wako Department Store, a notable location featured in the original Godzilla (1954). Photo by Brett Homenick.

During my trip to Ginza, I snapped new photos of familiar locations I've photographed countless times. The first location was the Hattori Clock Tower on the Wako Department Store, which was destroyed by Godzilla in Godzilla (1954). It was also briefly seen in another favorite film of mine, Kihachi Okamoto's Blue Christmas (a.k.a. Blood Type: Blue, 1978).

Following that, I moved on to the Yurakucho Mullion Building, which was featured in Godzilla (1984). Godzilla also destroys this building, and his reflection can be seen on the building as he carries the shinkansen train car in his hand.

The sun was just beginning to set as I was photographing the Yurakucho Mullion Building, and the pictures turned out rather well, if I may say so myself. They are below.
