Brett with the Man of Imagination, Ib Melchior, at his home.
While at the home of writer-director Ib Melchior on March 13, 2011, I had the pleasure of discussing his screenwriting work on the cult classic Reptilicus (1961), as well as his recent behind-the-scenes account of his sci-fi movie-making career, Six Cult Films from the Sixties.
(Six Cult Films from the Sixties can be purchased here.)
The videos are posted below. After watching them, please purchase a copy of Mr. Melchior's fascinating book!
Thanks a lot Brett for these two cool videos of Mr. Melchior! How fun it must be to sit with a legend!
ReplyDeleteYou've stirred up in me a real desire to get to know his movie oeuvre better. The book also looks fun. I love it when Ib said of REPTILICUS: "the bad augments the good and it becomes fun" Indeed!

Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThe book is certainly worth checking out. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
He should do a commentary track on a future Reptilcus DVD/Blu-ray release!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Ib was able to make use of a couple of photos I took, such as pg. 60 (Naura Hayden in 1977 in Pittsburgh, PA), in Six Cult Films.
ReplyDeleteThey were nice photos. By the way, feel free to drop me an e-mail sometime. I'd love to chat with you.
