A Bit of Toho History!

The special Seiko-produced clock given out to VIP guests at Toho's 50th anniversary celebration in 1982. Photo by Brett Homenick.

On December 13, 1982, Toho held its 50th anniversary party at the New Takanawa Prince Hotel in Minato Ward, Tokyo. VIP attendees received a Seiko clock shaped like the old Tokyo Takarazuka Theater (which, of course, is a big part of Toho history). It even plays the jingle that (I’m told) you see in musical notation on all the old Toho posters. Pretty cool. The family of one of the VIP attendees recently gave it to me, so I thought I’d share it here. Enjoy!
