A TOHO WHAT-IF! Kazuki Omori and Teruyoshi Nakano Join Forces for One Night Only!

Earlier tonight, I spent a fun evening in the company of two of the Godzilla series' movers and shakers: Teruyoshi Nakano and Kazuki Omori. Teruyoshi Nakano directed the SFX of the Godzilla series between 1971 and 1984, and Kazuki Omori wrote and directed Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), as well as writing the screenplays for Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995).

Watching the two directors interact with each other made me wonder what a team-up on the Godzilla series might have been like back in the day. Although Koichi Kawakita's SFX are one of the Heisei series' signature traits, I would have loved to see a collaboration between these two. Come on, you know it would have been fun!

Despite the typhoon coming our way tomorrow, I should have another blog update soon. That is, as long as the storm doesn't interfere with my plans. We'll see what happens. Fingers crossed!
