G-FEST XIX: A Big Success!

Akira Takarada and Bin Furuya greet their U.S. fans during Opening Ceremonies at G-FEST XIX.

G-FEST XIX is in the history books, and when all is said and done, this would have to rank as the biggest, most successful convention in G-FEST history! Attendance was through the roof, thanks in large part to our three main guests: Akira Takarada, Bin Furuya, and national horror host Svengoolie.

Radio talk show host Mancow was on hand to interview Mr. Furuya about Ultraman, and Frontier voice actor Tom Korzeniowski made a surprise appearance. There's a lot to talk about, but it'll all have to wait! Suffice it to say, G-FEST was a blast, and the only fans who should feel "embarrassed" about anything were those who stayed home.

I was humbled by all the positive comments I received about my session on Japan. Needless to say, I talked about my experiences meeting Japanese celebrities and visiting places of relevance to fans of our favorite genre. I also showed my photos of these experiences. It was 100% original, and the overwhelming positive reaction was a testament to its success. Thanks to everyone who attended!

I hope to write a fuller report in about a week or so. Stay tuned to this blog for more info and pictures!
